Mr. Choklek assists colleges, universities, school districts, and government agencies to find the proper design solutions for capital improvement projects of all shapes and sizes. He also frequently consults and advises clients of FGM Architects on grant opportunities for capital improvements and on issues involving energy procurement and management, green building design and construction, and sustainability initiatives and programs. Prior to entering the architectural/engineering field, Ed worked for 15 years in the utility industry, with many of those years focused on serving the complex energy needs of very large corporations and institutions.

Ed has presented on a wide variety of sustainability, energy, and utility topics to higher education institutions and to government agencies at both state and regional conferences. In addition, he has spoken on behalf of the USGBC Illinois Chapter on green building design, construction, operations, and maintenance at multiple conferences. Ed is an active member of the USGBC Missouri Gateway Chapter and currently serves as the Business Partner Liaison to the MAPPA Board of Directors.  Ed graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering focused on utility and energy engineering.
