Understanding Living Building Challenge 4.0 + an Intro to Core

This event is cancelled due to COVID-19. Please stay tuned for future opportunities. To learn more about the Living Building Challenge, visit https://living-future.org/

The International Living Future Institute (ILLFI) believes that regenerative design should be attainable to everyone, everywhere. In that spirit, ILFI has two new certifications to fit any project, at any scale, in any location around the world: LBC 4.0 & Core.

LBC 4.0, the latest release of the Living Building Challenge, addresses the fact that not all projects face the same challenges or share the same opportunities while the newly introduced Core Green Building Certification℠ seeks to rapidly diminish the gap between the highest levels of established green building certification programs and the aspirations of the LBC.

In this workshop, you’ll explore how LBC 4.0 focuses on the relationship between impact and effort and maximizes the positive impacts specific to a project’s place, community, and culture. You’ll discover how Core certification positions equity, connection to nature, and the need for a building to be loved as important as water, energy and materials concerns. You’ll leave with an understanding of the requirements of both LBC 4.0 and Core certification and successful strategies for achieving the certification that is best suited for your project.
