Forest Park Forever Partners in LEED Community Project

We’re excited to announce that Forest Park Forever and the USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter will be partnering through the LEED Community Project to certify the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center in Forest Park!

The LEED Community Project harnesses volunteers to green non-profit building operations through the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance rating system. The LEED Community Project began as a pilot in October 2011 working with the Missouri Botanical Garden on the Commerce Bank Center for Science Education – where the Chapter offices are headquartered.  Through the hard work of the volunteer team, the facility achieved LEED Silver certification in December 2012.

USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter volunteers will be gathering on December 12th to start the documentation process for the Forest Park Visitor Center. Volunteers will earn continuing education hours and  the eligibility to apply for a LEED AP exam while helping a treasured cultural institution green their building operations.
