Colleges and Universities across the country are rapidly integrating new and expanding existing sustainability initiatives. This presentation will provide snapshots of sustainability efforts underway in two universities that are located within the broader Missouri Gateway territory.

Attendees will learn about Missouri S&T’s campus sustainability initiatives such as a campus-wide geothermal energy project, comprehensive environmental management system (EMS) that integrates environmental stewardship into the education, research, and administrative activities
of the university, and Solar Village. Students from the Missouri S&T Solar House Team will share information about their entry into the 2013 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Competition.  And SIU-E will discuss projects ranging from a successful bikeshare program to six LEED projects now under construction on their campus.
