Renewable energy standard benefits our schools

“Last year Crossroads College Preparatory School was the first K-12 school in the region with a major solar installation: 364 solar panels totaling 87 kilowatts, enough to power eight homes. Over 10 years, we’ll offset the burning of 1 million pounds of coal and save at least $33,000 in energy costs. That’s money we can use to support our academic programs.

In addition, the solar panels and our building create a “living laboratory” for our students to learn the importance of renewable energy and environmental sustainability. The solar rebate program in Missouri’s renewable energy standard made installing this clean energy source affordable. . . . ”
