Session 1 of the EA Credit 1: Successful Implementation Beyond Baseline Performance Webinar Series

The  EA Credit 1: Successful Implementation Beyond Baseline Performance Webinar Series consists of 3 webinars throughout 3 consecutive weeks during July and August.  This three-part webinar series brings you the strategies necessary to successfully achieve EA Credit 1 and energy efficiency through integrated design.  During this webinar series, attendees will learn about the best practices and top strategies for energy load reduction, energy demand reduction, and renewable energy.

This session (Energy Consumption & EA Credit 1: Top 10 Energy Efficiency Measures for Load Reduction) will explore the first step for reducing energy consumption of a building: reducing energy loads.  Presenters will highlight energy simulation as a design tool and key to successfully implementing EA Credit 1. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Recognize energy load reduction techniques that support energy efficient building design and help earn credits under LEED-NC : EA Credit 1.
  • Assess opportunities for integrating energy modeling at initial design stages, decision making, and planning process.
  • Evaluate the pros and cons of energy modeling as a design tool for complying with LEED criteria.
  • Discuss cost impact of load reduction measures by evaluating case-specific examples.
