Continuing Education Classes

From October 24 to 28, St. Louis Community College will be offering a continuing education course on the topic of “The Business Case for Solar – Selling Solar PV Systems”, which will run from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Center for Workforce Innovation in Ferguson, MO.  This 5-day intensive course will focus on the business/financial case for solar photvoltaics (PV) as well as provide some of the technical basics.  It is for anyone who is interested in promoting solar as an extension of their business, including electricians, architects, home builders, and engineers.  If you plan to sell solar, this course will provide you with a solid understanding of why solar is a smart investment, and prepare eligible applicants for the NABCEP PV Technical Sales Certification exam

Also being offered by STLCC, and in partnership with the USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter, “LEED-ing The Way: Continuing Education Breakfast Seminars” presented by Ralph Bicknese, nationally recognized proponent and practitioner of sustainable design. This fall series of in-depth seminars will explore topics in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating systems, and are approved for LEED-specific continuing education hours under the GBCI credential maintenance program.  The session on “How to Submit for LEED Certification” will take place on October 13, 2011 from 7am to 9am. The session on “Daylight Modeling” will take place on November 30, 2011 from 7am to 9am.  All seminars include breakfast and are $30 for members and $49 for the general public.
