Lunch ‘n LEED: Health and Active Design through Green Building in the Fall 2011 Webinar Series

Fall 2011 webinar series consists of 3 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays October 25 – November 8.  Attend one or all.

This is an in-person, group viewing at the location specified below.  Lunch will not be provided, rather we encourage attendees to bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy during the webinar viewing.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, architects and urban reformers improved buildings, streets, neighborhoods, clean water systems, and parks, in order to combat the spread of infectious disease and improve public health. Today, designers can still play a crucial role in combating some of teh most rapidly growing public health epidemics of our time, including obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. A growing body of research suggests that evidence-based architectural and urban design strategies can positively impact public health by promoting regular physical activity and healthy eating.
