Be sure to nominate an individual, organization or company that is transforming the built environment for a 2011 Growing Green Award! Nominations opened November 15 and close at 5 pm on December 10. Winners will be announced at the Growing Green Awards Celebration on March 30, 2011.

Washington University in St. Louis seeks Sustainability Director

Washington University in St. Louis has an exciting new opportunity available to oversee the university’s sustainability initiatives.  The Sustainability Director is responsible for actively promoting and facilitating sustainability activities across the University, collaborating with students, faculty, and staff and relevant committees. Working with campus stakeholders, the director coordinates and advocates for Washington University’s integration of sustainable principles and practices into campus operations, procedures, and student and faculty activities. The director will be familiar with best sustainability practices at other universities and will facilitate implementation of similar practices and programs at Washington University.

USGBC-Missouri Gateway endorses Mary Ann Lazarus for national USGBC board!

The national USGBC recently announced their board candidates and opened elections on November 1. USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter is very proud to endorse Mary Ann Lazarus for the Green Building Educator seat on the USGBC board.

Mary Ann Lazarus is a long time Chapter member and a green building & sustainability leader both locally and nationally. She has served on the Chapter board and chaired our program committee for two years. Mary Ann is the only person from our Chapter territory nominated for the USGBC board – so lets get her elected!

Elections are open through December 3. Only organizations who are members of the  national USGBC are eligible to vote. Be sure to lobby for Mary Ann Lazarus for the Educator seat on the board!

USGBC-Missouri Gateway Board Elections: Nov 5 – 19

USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter has three open positions for our 2011 Board of Directors. Voting open Friday, November 5 and closes at 5 pm on Friday, November 19. All Chapter members with current memberships are eligible to vote in the election.

Board candidates are:

  • Bruce Lindsey, Washington University
  • Marjorie Melton, M3 Engineering
  • Megan Nasrallah, Arcturis

Current board members that will remain on the 2011 board include JoAnn Brookes (2011 Past Chair), Paul Todd Merrill (2011 Chair), Marc Lopata (Secretary – one year left in term), Tom Schultz (At large member – one year left in term) and Punit Jain (Advisor – one year left in term). Buck Van Hooser serves on the board as a representative of the Ozarks Branch.

Thanks to Deb Frank, Pat Justis, Tim Montgomery, Sara Seagrist and Keith Vollmar – their terms expire at the end of 2010 and we appreciate their service and commitment to the Chapter’s mission and success.
