Join us at the State of the Chapter & Social on January 23rd as we kick off our 2020 programming!  This FREE event – open to members and non-members – is one of the highlights of our year.

  • Meet Chapter members and connect with representatives from the board of directors and committees.
  • Learn about highlights from the past year and plans for the upcoming year.
  • Celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing volunteers.
  • Enjoy complimentary beer (thanks to Urban Chestnut Brewing Company!), wine (thanks to WFF Facility Services and Scout & Cellar!), and appetizers.
  • Find out how you can engage with USGBC-MGC to contribute to a positive future for our community.
  • Participate in the silent auction (see list below!)

This year’s event will be hosted by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1 where recent renovations to their building and parking lot boast substantial sustainable features. The 40,000 square foot building was built in 1960 and is on the National Register of Historic Places for modernist design. Renovations include a Solar Canopy on their parking lot that provides 160 kWh annually (enough to power 15 average sized homes) and electric vehicle charging stations; new HVAC system projected to save $22,000 annually and reduce kWH usage by more than 200,000; added insulation, a white roof and new windows; and water efficient fixtures.

We hope you’ll join us in welcoming the New Year and contributing to our goal of transforming the built environment!
