LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Course (FEB/MAR 2014)

In partnership with Institute of Real Estate Management – St. Louis Chapter

Distinguish yourself with a LEED Green Associate credential!

Passing the Green Associate exam will allow you to market your knowledge of the preeminent standards in the green building industry, and it is the first step in becoming a LEED Professional.

The LEED Green Associate credential is designed for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice. This credential attests to basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations.

USGBC-Missouri Gateway’s two full-day (16 hours total) LEED Green Associate Exam Prep course is designed to prepare participants for the LEED Green Associate exam.  Skilled instructors will provide an introduction to LEED, discuss methods of sustainable project delivery and green building principals, and offer test taking tips.

·        Water Efficiency

·        Energy and Atmosphere

·        Materials and Resources

·        Indoor Environmental Quality

·        Test Taking Tips

·        Practice Exam

REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS
1) Green Building and LEED Core Concepts 2nd Edition, USGBC

2) USGBC LEED Green Associate Study Guide, USGBC
Both of which may be purchased on the USGBC Publications page of the USGBC website.

3) LEED Green Associate Candidate Handbook (free download) and references outlined on pages 10 & 11 of the handbook.

PREREQUISITES Students must read and understand the steps needed to enroll for and take the exam.  The instructors will only address this as a broad overview.

PLEASE NOTE This course does not guarantee students will pass the LEED Green Associate exam.  Additional time outside of class will be required for reading the required textbooks.  Registering and taking the LEED Green Associate exam, and any associated costs, are not included in this course.

This course prepares participants for the Green Associate credentialing exam as well as the first part of the LEED AP Specialty credential. The Specialty exams are comprised of two parts: Green Associate & the Specialty.

Well you survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but you might not know that there’s a new day in the Holiday Season- a day to give back. December 3rd is now Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to giving.

This year, when you are thinking of making a year-end charitable contribution, keep the USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter and our Community Build projects in mind.

In November we be posted regularly on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages about our work to provide everyone with access to green buildings and green communities. We are much more than a member group or a professional organization; along with providing valuable education and networking opportunities, we provide a wide range of community projects that we call Community Build.
