Above & Beyond Volunteer Recognition- October

USGBC-Missouri Gateway is committed to recognizing volunteers who have contributed significantly to the Chapter, devoting time and talents “above and beyond” on a particular project or program. This month we are happy to recognize Lawrence Lile of Lile Engineering for his dedicated efforts to promote green building and sustainability!

Lawrence was nominated by Paul Todd Merrill, former board chair and current chair of the Membership Committee. A champion for green building in Mid-Missouri, Lawrence Lile is an incredible asset for the growing USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter Mid-Missouri Branch and our USGBC community at large.

Whether embarking upon ventures such as developing a partnership with AIA-Mid Missouri and organizing events including Sustainapalooza 2013, or completing tedious tasks like recording and submitting event attendance lists – Lawrence always remains dedicated to bringing folks together around a common cause and assuring educational opportunities are readily available.

Lawrence has developed a number of seminars to increase the understanding and application of LEED, including “LEED: A View from the Job Trailer” and serves as one of the instructors for the Chapter’s LEED Green Associate Exam Prep course.

Additionally, Lawrence truly lives a sustainable lifestyle with PV panels at his eco-friendly home near Ashland and his hobby of building electric bicycles for his preferred mode of transportation! We appreciate the countless hours Lawrence has contributed to establishing the Mid-Missouri Branch and making our region a better place!
