Jim Stueber, director of facilities engineering at Washington University in St. Louis and USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter member, has recently been featured in an article of the St. Louis Beacon, “Jim Stueber makes little things add up to big energy savings.”

In this article Stueber discusses his efforts in making Wash U’s med school a more sustainable facility.  Stueber, who has been described as “naturally green at heart” guided others in taking the small steps necessary to drop energy use per square foot by about 60%.  Among other things, he helped switch the power plant from coal to natural gas and got people involved, encouraging simple behavior changes.
