“Today, sustainability is good business.”

Sustainability and green were major themes at this afternoon’s City of St. Louis Business Celebration Luncheon. In his State of City Business address, Mayor Francis Slay said that “today, sustainability is good business.” And we agree!

The video presentation and awards echoed this by celebrating many businesses in the City of St. Louis that are committed to sustainability and green building. And in fact, USGBC-STL Executive Director, Emily Andrews was interviewed for the video. Several businesses with LEED certified offices in the City of St. Louis were also featured in the video: Arcturis, Cannon Design, Roberts Office Expansion, Villa Lighting and William A. Kerr Foundation.

The Business Luncheon is presented by Mayor Slay and the St. Louis Development Corporation and many awards were given to businesses with a commitment to sustainability. It’s exciting to see green building recognized as an important aspect of business and culture in the City of St. Louis!
